Finally new version is available. There is more than 50 new features, changes and fixes implemented. And they are not only simple to achieve big number of changes.

Related stories

Even related stories are not suggested in Scrum (INVEST principle) customers asked us for a long time for possibility to store relations between stories.

Relations can be entered using visual designer included in Story detail window. Stories can be dragged from the backlog pane and relation will be created automatically. Filtering of backlog allows you to find the story sooner.

Click on small card to select it, press DEL key to delete it. It is so simple.

Move stories to different project

Move story to different projectThis is the first step to our multiproject (product) level.

Stories are possible to move to different project's backlog. Release and sprint will not be assigned.

To move it display Story detail window and select target project from Project combo box in Details tab.

 

Sprint details inplace editing

Sprint details was possible to edit in Sprint detail window. Now details can be directly edited inside panels. Editing is more efficient now.

Plus! Work with sprint's attachments directly from the pane!

Attachments for sprints and releases

Sprints and releases related documentation can be stored inside ScrumDesk now. Attachments are available in detail panels and in detail windows.

Screen capturing

Capture of the screen can be attached to stories. This way product owner can easy describe what he needs to achieve or where the problem is.

Screen capturing can be started form Story detail window  (Attachments tab) by click on Capture screen button.

ScrumDesk will be minimalized and capture tool window will appear. Drag it to place you would like to capture, use handlers in the corner to set captured region and then click Capture.

Login window

Login window has been slightly redesigned.

This change makes the window more compact wit more place to display error in case of problem.

Some minor issues during the login operation were fixed too.

 

 Server and Database window

Connectivity to servers has been significantly redesigned. Finally!

Now is supported:

  • Save/Load connection to a file so it can be easy shared in the team. Connection  details are stored in crypted file readable by ScrumDesk.
  • Support of SQL Server instances
  • Testing of credentials

Pomodoro timer

Yes! Are you using Pomodoro to get the things done? Not? You should!

Set time to work and time to rest. ScrumDesk will inform you (notify bubble and sound) when period has finished.

Take a rest for a while, switch to work for selected period and wait for the beep.

Gray pomodoro indicates disabled Pomodoro timer

  • duration of Work interval
  • duration of Pause interval
  • Pomodoro timer is possible to enable/disable
  • Check Sound if you would liek to be informed by sound
  • Click Set button and configuration is applied immediately

Treemap enhancements

Tree map is used by product owners to have visibility on huge backlogs.

We added more detailed tooltip to describe group of stories.

We enhanced it to support grouping by:

  • Tags
  • Positive value
  • Negative Value
  • Risk level
  • Satisfaction level

Velocity per day

Teams doing more Lean approach or facing to daily change of sprint backlog used to use measure of velocity per day. ScrumDesk now calculates this chart in Reports/Product Overview page.

Email notification

Team memebrs can be notified by email about changes that happened in the project. Just configure project SMTP email server and account allowing you to send an email.

Support of administrators

Backup/Restore

Administrator have possibility to backup and restore database on the server directly from ScrumDesk in administration mode.

YOU HAVE TO ENTER PATH ON SERVER HOSTING DATABASE!
BACKUP IS PROCESSED BY SQL SERVER, NOT ScrumDesk!
YOU HAVE TO HAVE CREDENTIALS TO DO BACKUP/RESTORE!

Connection file

To support easier configuration of ScrumDesk connection to team database it is possible now to store conenction details into crypted file that can be shared in the team.

Administrator can save the file by click on Send connection. Users list will display. Administrator can choose user that will receive connection file. File will be sent as attachment of an email.

Once the file is received by team memebr can be loaded in Server and Database window.

Enhancements

  • Speed optimization - many operations were moved to background processing so they do not slow you while editing your stories or trying to display charts
  • Absences window - column Team member moved to second position
  • Tags are exported to Excel file
  • Saved/restored sort order of task board
  • Connection to server is cancelable now
  • Planning poker: carousel sorted by priority, lists Smaller, Equal and Larger stories sorted by Effort

Defects fixed

  • Crash if Skype is not installed
  • Retrospective grid displays incorrect columns
  • Tags panel is not updated when new tag is added
  • Crash when sorting Absences by picture
  • Crashes in Planing poker window
  • Company key was not possible to assign in some cases
  • Spent time is possible to enter even story is completed
  • Stories is possible to add to backlog in Planning view
  • Double click  in Planning window will create a new story
  • It was not possible to choose Away user's status in some cases
  • Crash when filter Modifed was applied and there was no history
  • Activities are sorted in opposite direction now - newest on the top of the list
